The Andy Reiner Fiddle / Violin Method

Welcome to the Andy Reiner Fiddle / Violin Method! A completely new way of learning the instrument and creativity from scratch, players will gain instant feedback on their playing via the loop pedal, and learn crucial harmonic, listening, timing, jamming, and technology skills. Instead of being told what to play and to focus on technique at the expense of musicianship, this method will encourage creativity and foster a playful, yet holistic understanding of each piece of repertoire. In addition to melodies, students will learn how to accompany their own melodies with bass lines and inner voices - strategies that lead to the ability to play music with others.

There is some gear to purchase. There is thus some financial investment that must be made in order to complete these exercises. The result is a more efficient and fun way to get better at playing music. Visit the GEAR page for specific recommendations!

  • Pickup or electric violin.

  • Quarter inch (1/4”) mono instrument cables

  • (optional but super highly recommended) An octave pedal

  • Looping pedal

  • Amplifier
